Yellowstone meals should protect the park day.
This is not a food-city trip. Use dining rooms, cafeterias, picnic food, and gateway meals to keep the route calm and the best daylight in the park.
Reserve the meal that matters
If one historic dining room or lake evening is important, plan it deliberately instead of assuming park dining will stay flexible.
Pack the middle of the day
A cooler, snacks, and water make wildlife pullouts and geyser timing easier than chasing lunch across the park.
Use gateways for supply runs
West Yellowstone, Gardiner, and Jackson solve different problems; do not make every meal depend on in-park timing.
